It was sheer terror on an Englewood school bus when a red sedan collided with it around 3 p.m. on February 15, 2013. The bus was heading north on South Delaware Street from Clayton Elementary just a blocks away according to the Denver Post.
The school bus was struck by a car moving east on West Lehigh Avenue. The car was driven by an 18-year-old but her name has not been released according to 9 News.
Of the 34 Englewood Students aboard, 12 were assessed at the scene and nine of them and the driver of the other vehicle were sent to local area hospitals with ‘minor’ injuries according to Sgt. Vance Fender, a spokesman for the Englewood Police Dept.
EPD is still investigating the crash, but the police believe the woman who hit the bus ran a stop sign Fender said.
The students were treated for any injuries they sustained in the collision and then released. The other driver’s condition is unknown at this time.
